Web Design & Development for Mobile Devices
With an increasing amount of people surfing the web using tablets and smartphones, the way in which we produce websites has developed into what we call 'responsive web design'. This means optimum viewing regardless of the device you are using - decreased loading time, easy readability and navigation, with a minimum of zooming, panning and scrolling. When you view our websites that have also been enhanced for viewing on mobile devices, we can detect what you're using to view the site on, and this informs your device which design to load (mobile, tablet, or desktop).
When designing for tablets and smartphones, there's generally two ways we go about it:
Strip Down
Minimising a website's content down to the bare essentials. The remaining content is contact information, and a few useful tools that you'd expect someone to want when using their smartphone e.g. checking availability for booking, finding out opening times, searching for a particular item etc.

Altered Layout Design
Displaying the content of a website using a different layout design for easier navigation and readability. Usually large pictures with either be reduced in sized, if not removed completely, to speed up loading time. All the content is condensed to the width of your device so that you don't have to scroll from side-to-side when viewing a page.
